This sidewalk artist does amazing work! His name is Julian Beever and he creates what is called anamorphic drawings. These are optical illusions created with chalk material. Julian Beever, a Belgian artist, calls himself "Pavement Picasso." He can take his 100% flat images and turn them into 3-D effects by the art of morphing. As a result, looking at these anamorphic images from the correct angle seems to defy the laws of perception.

This is pretty amazing stuff. There really is nothing more I can say about this guy. But I did find Julian Beever's website and a time lapse video presentation of Julian Beever creating the Aveeno "Fountain of Youth" chalk drawing in Union Square, NY on January 15, 2007 (SEE BELOW).
