Larissa Schuster | Acid Murderer | Life Sentence

Larissa Schuster was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in a Fresno County Courtroom on Friday. Back in 2003 this Bio-chemist was convicted of killing her estranged husband, Timothy Schuster, and dumping his body in a barrel of acid.

Judge Wayne Ellison, who presided over the trial, told Schuster that her attorneys were instrumental in saving her life. In fact, Schuster's attorneys tried to get the verdict overturned. Friday, they had run out of options, but Schuster's defense vowed to continue to fight on in this case by first filing an appeal.

Schuster was convicted December 13, 2007 and sentenced today, May 16, 2008.

Before the sentencing, the judge took into account statements made by people affected by the murder. Kristen, the daughter of Larissa and Timothy, did not have any sympathy for her mother. She asked the judge not to be lenient. This is her bitter farewell to her convicted mother, Larissa:

You have taken away one of the most important people in my life... But you have not ruined me. In your quest to become a domineering power freak, you have become your own demon.

I pray you are haunted every night by the sight and sound of my father fighting for his last breathing moments here on this earth. I hope you're haunted every night, by the horrific act of violence you have committed,

Larissa Schuster, 47, intimidated her former lab-assistant into helping her commit this crime in Clovis, CA. She murdered her husband for financial gain.

Prosecutors said Schuster and her former lab assistant, James Fagone, first immobilized Timothy Schuster with a stun gun and a chloroform-soaked rag. Then they bound his hands and feet before dumping him head first into the barrel and pouring bottles of hydrochloric acid on the body.

In December 2006, a Fresno jury convicted Fagone of first-degree murder and burglary for his role in the slaying, but he was acquitted of kidnapping. He also was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.~mercurynews.com

This is a tragic case. I sincerely hope Schuster's adult daughter, Kristen, receives counseling. Now that Larissa Shuster has been sentenced and sent to where she truly belongs this town can finally breathe a sigh of relief. They should all at least have the pleasure of having closure right now.
