The 2008 BET Awards show was a great event hosted by comedian D. L. Hughley, including performances by Fergie, Rihanna, Kanye West, Usher, Alicia Keys, TLC, Keyshia Cole, En Vogue, NEYO, Jill Scott, Maxwell, and more.
There was a well deserved tribute to soul legend Al Green. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award, and brought the audience to its feet singing along for renditions of his classics "Let's Stay Together" and "Love and Happiness."
Queen Latifah presented BET's Humanitarian Award to music legend Quincy Jones for his extensive philanthropic work.
Some of the other presenters of the night were Jennifer Hudson, Cuba Gooding, Jr., LL Cool J, John Legend, P Diddy, Ashanti, and Terrence Howard.
