After 2 years of a custody and divorce battle with her soon-to-be ex-hubby architect Peter Cook, 47, supermodel Christie Brinkley, 54 says that if things can't be settled privately she and her lawyer feel the press should be allowed to attend the divorce proceedings. Of course, the press would agree. But, the court-appointed guardian for her children says it's not a good idea. Also, Peter Cook's lawyer does not want the court to be open. He stresses that it could be damaging to their children, ages 9 and 12.
Brinkley's lawyer said,
Frankly, Cook's long affair with an 18-year-old girl is only the tip of the iceberg.The judge's decision should be announced soon.
In 2006, Brinkley split from Cook after she found out he had an affair with Diana Bianchi, then 19, his assistant. Cook met Bianchi when he was shopping for toys for his and Brinkley's children. Bianchi was working at the toy store. Cook sent Bianchi love messages and carried on a year long affair with her. He showered Bianchi with plenty of cash, clothes, and a luxury vehicle. Brinkley found out about the affair when she went through Cook's e-mails.
