John McCain orders Republican National Convention (RNC) changes. US Presidential hopeful John McCain puts it this way, after touring Mississippi emergency operations center on Sunday:
We will redirect our efforts to reflect the seriousness of Hurricane Gustav. America needs us now.
With his vice presidential running mate, Sarah Palin, by his side, McCain said the Republican Party would call on the nation to help fellow citizens by
reaching out our hands and our hearts and our wallets to the people who are under such great threat from this great natural disaster.
Barack Obama, the Democratic presidential candidate said Sunday that he will mobilize his donor list to send money or volunteers to help with recovery efforts. After attending church in Lima, Ohio, Obama said,
We can activate and e-mail a list of a couple million people who want to give back. I think we can get tons of volunteers to travel down there if it becomes necessary.
The Republican National Convention will officially begin Monday at 3 pm and conclude for the day around 5:30 pm, according to reports from the Republican Party.
