An Army psychiatrist opened fire at the Fort Hood Army post Thursday, authorities said, in a rampage that killed 12 people and left 31 wounded. The man was identified as Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, a 39-year-old, eight-year veteran from Virginia.
The latest report, November 6 2009, is that 13 are dead and the shooter, Nidal Malik Hasan, survived his wounds. According to a report, Hasan is in stable condition in an undisclosed location.
Military authorities have yet to announce the identities of the soldiers Hasan killed.
