First Case of Swine Flu Found In Georgia

Okay, this is my last update on the Swine Flu aka H1N1 Flu reported by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). But, I will provide the links to where you may receive the latest information. The head of Georgia's Division of Public Health said Thursday that a Kentucky woman is the first confirmed case of swine flu found in Georgia. She had been in Cancun, Mexico earlier this month.

WHO has raised the alert level to Phase 5:

Phase 5 is characterized by human-to-human spread of the virus into at least two countries in one WHO region. While most countries will not be affected at this stage, the declaration of Phase 5 is a strong signal that a pandemic is imminent and that the time to finalize the organization, communication, and implementation of the planned mitigation measures is short.~source

Swine flu symptoms are similar to regular flu -- fever, cough, and sore throat. And it spreads like regular flu, through tiny particles in the air, when people cough or sneeze. If you have flu symptoms you are advised to first see your physician, stay at home, wash your hands frequently, and cough or sneeze in your elbows, not your hands.

Who Got Voted Off American Idol Season 8 April 29 2009?

Matt Giraud, 23, was voted off American Idol Season 8 on April 29 2009. It's too bad he didn't survive "Rat Pack Week" because he did a pretty good job on My Funny Valentine Tuesday night. I still think Matt Giraud is more effective behind the piano. He appears more vulnerable without his instrument.

Anyway, there was plenty of drama tonight. In the beginning of the show Ryan Seacrest called all 5 contestants one-by-one. The result was that Allison and Danny were part of the top 4 and Matt, Kris, and Adam were in the bottom 3. Adam was called out last and asked by Seacrest what side he thought he belonged in. Of course, Adam chose to side with Allison and Danny. But, Seacrest surprised him and moved Adam to the Bottom 3 side. Everyone was shocked and Adam's face was tight!

The bottom 3 had to sweat it out until Natalie Cole and Taylor Hicks finished their performances. Taylor Hicks has lost a noticeable amount of weight and he looks great. Then, Ryan Secrest announced that Kris was safe. Next, Jamie Foxx performed his hit song, Blame It. Jamie Foxx was the Top 5 contestants' mentor for Rat Pack Week. After Jamie's performance we are at the end of the show. Everyone was on pins and needles waiting to hear if Adam would be the one going home. Finally... Seacrest said, "Adam, You Are Safe."

Professor George Zinkhan | Murder Motive Unclear | Video

Federal authorities still are unclear about a motive for the suspected College Professor, George Zinkhan, killing his wife and two men. According to neighbors and friends there was no indication of trouble between the University of Georgia Marketing Professor and his wife.

Some reports are that Marie Bruce was George Zinkhan's estranged wife. But other reports indicate that the couple was divorced. I haven't been able to find which was true. However, it has been confirmed that the murdered woman was his second wife. The couple had two children. Zinkhan was married to his first wife over 20 years, which included 3 children. Now, five children are left to wonder what happened so tragically in their father's life.

Federal authorities say a Georgia college professor suspected in the shooting deaths of his wife and two men outside a Community Theater has a ticket for a flight to the Netherlands for May 2 and they can't find his passport.~AP

Swine Flu Cases Rise Worldwide

This morning the World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed that swine flu cases are on the rise worldwide. However, it has not been considered a pandemic since there are very few confirmed cases of illness and death.

The swine flu outbreak originated in Mexico with 152 deaths suspected to be caused by the virus. But there are only 26 confirmed illness cases and 7 confirmed deaths out of Mexico. Of course that is reason for concern since this virus spreads rapidly and from human-to-human once it takes effect and is airborne.

So far, at least 90 cases have been confirmed worldwide, including 50 in the United States, 26 in Mexico (including seven deaths), six in Canada, three in New Zealand, two each in Spain and the United Kingdom, and one in Israel.

With at least 11 other countries suspecting infections, the World Health Organization has raised its alert level from three to four on its six-level scale.

[Israel] is calling the outbreak “Mexico flu” so that citizens do not have to pronounce the name of an animal considered impure in Judaism and Islam.~The CNN Wire

Air Force One Flyover Photo-Op | People Running For Their Lives | April 27 2009

Did this military "Photo-Op" performed yesterday cause New Yorkers to panic and run for their lives? You bet it did! I've read reports that some women fainted and most office workers ran out of the buildings as fast as they could without anyone telling them what to do next. They were not taking any chances. This was too reminiscent of September 11, 2001 aka "911."

No one, not even the Mayor of New York, knew that the Defense Department had planned on flying only 1,000 to 1,500 feet above Manhattan for a photo-op above the Statue of Liberty. The White House has apologized and there is a presser from Mayor Bloomberg, below. Also, check out the press secretary's answer for the reporters.

UPDATE: MARCH 28 2009 President Obama just responded to a question about the military flyover from yesterday. President Obama said that he knew nothing about the incident but assures the American people that it will not happen again.

Iron Man 2 | Don Cheadle Replaces Terrence Howard

Iron Mon 2 does not debut until May 2010 but today there is a lot of buzz about the upcoming Movie. We just found out that Don Cheadle replaces Terrence Howard in the Marvel franchise. According to a report from Parade magazine it was over a contract dispute. And Terrence Howard is not a happy camper. Check out what he had to say:

"Marvel made a choice, and it was a very, very bad choice. They didn't keep their word. They didn't honor my contract. They produced a great bounty with the first one but they put it all in the storehouse and you were not allowed in. They did the same thing with Gwyneth Paltrow, from what I've been told. They did it with almost everyone except Robert Downey [Jr.]. One of the things that actors need to learn to do is always stick together, one for all and all for one.

I've seen the script, I know what's going to happen, but I'm not revealing anything. I believe in karma. When someone does something wrong, you don't have to get them back. Everything right will return the favor for you. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the movie. I want to see Don Cheadle become me. No, I want him to do better than me. I think Terrence Howard is a good actor, but DON CHEADLE is a GREAT ACTOR! I look forwad to watching Don Cheadle in his new role.

Accused Craigslist Killer On Suicide Watch | Video

In the American judicial system you are 'innocent until proven guilty.' It just looks like the circumstantial evidence is stacking up pretty high against accused Craigslist murder suspect, Phillip Markoff. He has pleaded 'not guilty.' We'll see what happens. Right now, Markoff is on suicide watch.

Accused Craigslist killer Philip Markoff reportedly tried to hang himself in his jail cell with shoelaces and was placed on suicide watch Thursday, according to media reports. Correction officers found "shoelace marks" around the 22-year-old med student's neck.

He was quickly moved to a segregated unit at Boston's Nashua St. jail so officers can keep a closer watch on him, according to ABC News. Markoff is being held without bail on murder, kidnapping and robbery charges in the slaying of Manhattan masseuse Julissa Brisman and the stickup of hooker Trisha Leffler.

Also, in an exclusive interview with the New York Daily News, a college friend of alleged "Craigslist Killer" Philip Markoff discussed an incident with him four years ago - possibly fueled by alcohol - which may have provided a glimpse into the medical student's dark side, reports CBS News correspondent Daniel Sieberg.~source

Craigslist Killer Suspect Kept Victims Panties | Video

Police found that the Craigslist Killer Suspect, Philip Markoff, kept 'trophies' in his apartment in Quincy, MA. The alleged victims' panties were found inside Markoff's residence. I guess this helps to verify that the cops have their man. I mean, why would a man who is not guilty of these crimes have the women's panties in his apartment?

The police have asked other women to please come forward if they have been victims. The DA in Boston said that these women will not be prosecuted for their advertised services on Craigslist. After the cops go through some of those 'trophies,' and check the email and phone numbers from Markoff's blackberry they might be able to track some of those other victims.

It's a good thing this man's 'double life' was exposed before getting hitched. His fiancee should be able to breath a sigh of relief. I'm sure her parents are glad they will not have to face a certain tragedy in the future. What a relief!

Who Got Voted Off American Idol Season 8 April 22 2009?

Anoop Desai and Lil Rounds
It was Disco Week and two contestants did not survive the '1970s.' Lil Rounds was voted off early in the night. Simon Cowell's prediction was right. It was the end of the road for Lil Rounds. However, her last performance of "I'm Every Woman" was her best performance.

The top professional Disco performers of the night were Freda Payne, Thelma Houston, and KC of 'KC and the Sunshine Band.' They were fun to watch and reminds everyone to make sure to make your mark in the pop music world while you are "young." It would have been nice to show, on that screen in the back, how these artists looked when they were young. That would have shown the young folks why these old 'fogies' deserved to be center stage last night.

At the end of the show no one was surprised that Anoop Desai was the second contestant to go back home. But, his last performance of "Dim All the Lights" was excellent.

Craigslist Killer Suspect in Custody | Video

This 22-year-old medical student, attending Boston University, has been arrested in the murder of New York resident Julissa Bresman, 26, and the kidnapping-robbery of another masseuse. Bresman has been described as a masseuse and model.

The suspect's name is Philip Markoff. He is from Central, New York. Right now, Markoff resides in Quincy, MA. The cops in Boston, MA have stated that Markoff is a "predator" and is charged with 2 crimes: initial robbery-kidnapping and homicide.

Markoff is engaged to be married. He and his fiancee's wedding date is August 14 2009. Of course, his fiancee is shocked by the news.

He thought he was going to get away with it. He thought he was too smart for us,

said Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley.

The local authorities said they had Markoff under surveillance for a few days and local police have received at least 100 tips from the public. Also, law enforcement used technical methods to track down this suspect with knowledge of his 'IP Address' and 'Blackberry.' And, old-fashioned detective work played a large part in apprehending this suspect. Markoff's arraignment is scheduled for this afternoon.

UPDATE #2: 2:04 pm ET -- RAW VIDEO - Phillip Markoff in court. According to a news report, Markoff pleads 'not guilty.'


UPDATE: 12:53 pm ET -- Phillip Markoff's arraignment is over. He did not make any comments during the hearing. The suspect is being held without bail. Markoff's pre-trial hearing is scheduled for May 21 2009. Last night, his residence in Quincy, MA was raided by law enforcement.

Boston (AP/WBZ Newsroom) A medical student facing charges of murdering a masseuse he had lured to a hotel through Craigslist was linked to the slaying in part by surveillance video and computer evidence, authorities said.

Philip Markoff, 22, was due in court in Boston on Tuesday in connection with the shooting death of a New York woman at a luxury hotel in Boston on April 14 and the kidnapping and armed robbery of another masseuse April 10 who was tied up at another hotel.

Police say Markoff was the man seen on video surveillance using a hand-held texting device at hotels where the women were attacked.

But the stunned fiancee of the Boston University medical school student insists police have the wrong man and there is no way he could have done it.

"He could not hurt a fly," Megan McAllister said in an email to ABC's "Good Morning America. "All I have to say is Philip is a beautiful person, inside and out," she said in the email read on Tuesday's program.

Authorities say there could be more victims.~source

I want to be just like this woman when I reach 100. She is an inspiration! Not only is she still bowling "strikes," but her voice is strong and she walks straight. What amazes me is that she does not complain of lifting a 10-pound bowling ball. She is amazing! I'm very happy someone is telling her story. It has inspired me to stop complaining and get on with it...

Madonna Falls Off Horse In Hamptons | Video

Once again, the Paparazzi cause some kind of mishap. One of the infamous "Paps" jumps out of the bushes and startled the horse Madonna was riding. This sudden movement caused her to fall off the horse:

Madonna took a tumble while horseback riding in the Hamptons on Saturday when her mount was startled by photographers, and she suffered "minor injuries" and bruises, a spokeswoman said.~AP

Poor Susan Boyle. . . . Her adoring public won't allow her to get any rest after discovering her wonderful singing talent and life's story. She was a guest on Larry King Live and we heard yet another song from her. This time it was a little sampling of "My Heart Will Go On" from the movie, Titanic. She did a wonderful job and Piers Morgan asked her out on a date! Morgan is one of the judges on "Britain's Got Talent" where Susan Boyle is a contestant.

Susan Boyle is the latest YouTube sensation and phenomenon. Her timing is perfect. The world is lucky to have this inspiring woman, with a wonderful spirit, share her talent.

Susan Boyle, the latest YouTube sensation has some serious staying power. Today, we have discovered her recording of Cry Me A River in 1999. She sang on a limited edition CD:

Her version of ballad Cry Me A River was included on the Music for a Millennium Celebration disc in 1999.

Just 1,000 copies of the CD were funded by Whitburn Community Council.

American Idol Season 8 April 15 2009 | Who Was Voted Off?

To get to the point, nobody was voted off last night. Anoop Desai, Lil Rounds, and Matt Giraud were in the bottom 3. After the first commercial Anoop Desai was told he was safe and returned to the couch. I think Anoop has a great voice, but where is the passion? Anyway, Jennifer Hudson, a former American Idol contestant, Academy Award winner, and Grammy Award winner, sang one of her latest hits. She was not spectacular, and appeared to have a little trouble with her earpiece which took away from her performance.

Also, Miley Cyrus performed one of her popular songs. I thought she did a pretty good job but could have done it without the "fog." Her performance appeared to be previously taped because the judges' body language just didn't jive with the type of reaction you would have after viewing a pop star. But, maybe they are jaded at this point.

At the end of the show there was some drama for the audience. Lil Round was saved. Matt Giraud was left to sing for his life on American Idol. His performance fell flat but the judges discussed using their only "save" on this contestant. Matt came out triumphant. He survived another week on the show.

Next week 2 American Idol contestants will be eliminated. Matt, Lil, and Anoop might have the same results. However, they could have the performance of their life and survive once again. Next Week is "Disco Week." The other contestants had better watch out!

Jamie Foxx Disses Miley Cyrus | Shock Jock | Video

Oscar winning actor Jamie Foxx might have gone too far this time. He disses teen superstar Miley Cyrus, over the weekend, on his Sirius Satellite radio show called Foxxhole. Foxx and his radio "posse" really got into the act when comments were made about Miley Cyrus reportedly dissing the band "Radiohead" at the Grammys. Supposedly, Radiohead refused to meet Miley backstage and she made a comment that she would 'ruin their career' as a consequence. However, I've heard that she immediately laughed and said, "Just kidding."

There was so much backlash from this radio rant until Jamie Foxx appeared on Jay Leno's show last night and apologized to Miley Cyrus, via camera, for his remarks [View the 2nd Video Clip, below].

What do I think? I think Jamie Foxx went too far. He crossed the line. Miley Cyrus is a public figure but she is only 16-years-old. She is much too young for Jamie Foxx to target her with adult humor. This was too raunchy with possible racial undertones by referring to her as a "white b***." This was just as bad as 'shock jock' Don Imus calling the young black female basketball players "nappy headed hos."

Hannah Montana: The Movie opened at American and Canadian Theaters on Friday, April 10 2009. The teen sensation Miley Cyrus topped the Box Office once again grossing $34 million over the weekend.

This time, not only were there pre-teens and their parents in attendance, teenage girls attended in great numbers since a lot of girls in this age group have been fans of the the Hannah Montana TV show.

Breaking News | Captain Richard Phillips Rescued

Breaking News Report: Just a few minutes ago - around 8:30 pm in the Indian Ocean - The U.S. Cargo Ship's [the Maersk Alabama] Captain Richard Phillips has been rescued. According to the news report I just heard Captain Phillips jumped overboard again and the US Navy Seals took advantage of that.

Three of the four pirates, holding the Captain hostage, were killed. The fourth pirate is in custody. the 4th pirate was on board the Navy Ship negotiating during the military operation. It has been reported that the 4th pirate was wounded. The lifeboat was getting closer to the shore of Somalia. The Navy knew that once they hit the shore it would have been more difficult to free the Captain. The Navy took action tonight with a military operation.

Captain Richard Phillips is reported to be safe and sound aboard U.S. Navy Ship. This is great news and a victory for the United States of America.

While their Captain remains a hostage of 4 Somali pirates on a lifeboat, the Maersk Alabama crew was able to dock at the port in Mombasa, Kenya [See the Raw Video footage below].

A Navy warship is stopping a Pirate ship from getting near the pirates' lifeboat. the pirates want to be able to transport Captain Richard Phillips to Somalia where they feel they will be able to negotiate the ransom demand a lot better. The pirates are demanding $2 million for the Captain's release and their safe departure. Right now it's a standoff and we do not know when the end is near. Captain Phillips has been held hostage for 3 days now.

US Navy ships are surrounding the pirates. However:

French commandos stormed a yacht held by Somalia pirates in an operation Friday that left one French hostage and two gunmen dead, hours after an American skipper held in a separate ransom battle narrowly failed in a dramatic rescue bid, officials said.~source

Eminem New Video Attacks Sarah Palin And A Bunch of Other Folks | We Made You

Eminem does not disappoint when it comes to controversy. His new music video, We Made You, shows the Rap Star to be relentless when it comes to shock value. He does not let up on this one.

This time around, Eminem's targets are Bret Michaels, Amy Winehouse, Kim Kardashian, Jessica Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, Samantha Ronson, Sarah Palin, and even Eminem himself!

It might be disgusting and Eminem has received plenty of criticism, especially for his parody of Sarah Palin. If you watch and listen to his music video carefully you will see the point he is trying to get across.

I know it's harsh but I found myself LOL at most of it. It's funny, for sure. Check it out, below:

Melissa Huckaby Arrested For 8-Year-Old Girl Murder | Video

Finally, an arrest for the murder of little 8-year-old, Sandra Cantu, in California. As you can see below, a surveillance camera captured the child skipping along on the way to a friend's house on the day she disappeared. It's so sad to see that this 'happy-go-lucky' child lost her life at the hands of an evil person.

We don't know if Melissa Huckaby is the murderer of this child but the suitcase the deceased child was found in belonged to Huckaby. If this woman did not commit the crime let's hope she can lead the authorities to the culprit.

A Sunday school teacher was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and killing 8-year-old Sandra Cantu, whose body was found in a suitcase in an irrigation pond.~AP

Captain Phillips Tried to Escape | Recaptured by Pirates | Video

The tension is reaching an all time high on the high seas in the area of the Horn of Africa. The Somali Pirates recaptured Captain Phillips last night after he attempted to escape by jumping over the side of the lifeboat (see photo). The pirates are armed with Ak-47s and are demanding $2 million in ransom for the release of Captain Phillips. The pirates said that if their demands are not met they will kill the American Captain.

More warships are racing to the scene to the Horn of Africa. And other pirate ships are heading to the same region.

I sure hope the pirates' demands are met and Captain Richard Phillips is released safely. He has been held hostage for more than 2 days now. The longer this thing drags on the more dangerous it can be for the Captain.

Breaking | Angels Pitcher Nick Adenhart Killed | Hit and Run

Just hours after pitching in last night's baseball game, Angels pitcher, Nick Adenhart, 22, was killed in a hit and run. An SUV ran right through a red light and slammed into Adenhart's Mitsubishi. Four passengers were in Adehnart's vehicle. Two other passengers lost their lives, also. The fourth passenger is fighting for his life at a nearby hospital.

The accident occurred shortly after midnight at the intersection of Orangethorpe Avenue and Lemon Street in Fullerton, said Lt. Craig Brower of the Fullerton Police Department.

The driver of the minivan fled on foot, but police found him about a mile away and took him into custody on suspicion of hit-and-run, Brower said. Further charges are pending as the investigation continues, he said.~source

My thoughts and prayers are with the families of all the deceased in this tragic accident. Authorities may find that the SUV driver could have been talking on his cell phone. Drivers talking on cell phones are causing a lot of fatal accidents across the country. It's against the law to drive while on the cell phone in most states, However, this law is rarely enforced.

UPDATE: The suspect in this case was charged with DUI in the past. He ran from the scene because he was driving with suspended license.

This is the first US Ship hijacked in over 200 years. But, in the 21st century the Somali Pirate situation is serious. Captain Richard Phillips is being held hostage on a lifeboat somewhere out in the ocean near Mogadishu. Right now, the American government is negotiating with the Pirates for the Captain's release and warships are 'on the way to save the day.' I hope the Captain will be found alive and well.

Billy Bob Thornton Blows Up | What Else Is New?

Well... this is one way for the public to pay attention to him. Billy Bob Thornton has been off the Hollywood Radar for some time now. This public display of "ugliness" on his part brings him right back into the picture. For those of us who did not know he was a 'musician,' along with being an accomplished actor-writer-director, we have been informed. It's too bad Thornton has to bring attention to his "Boxmasters Band" with this attitude. I felt bad for his band, which looks like a group of great guys with fantastic personalities.

Billy Bob Thornton was upset with the radio host and his producer because, according to Thornton, he had the understanding that his film career would not be mentioned in the interview. It should be about the music, only.

It always amazes me to see how people try to control other people's behavior. As if the public is suppose to forget Billy Bob Thornton's acting chops. So... we are suppose to say to ourselves: "Let's forget about his movies and just look at him as an unknown 'drummer' and judge him on that alone."

Earth to Thornton. . . rejoin the real world and you will be a happier person and someone pleasant to be around. Some people refer to Thornton as "eccentric." I don't know. He just sounds 'crazy' to me. Check out the interview, below:

Who Was Voted Off American Idol Season 8 April 8 2009?

Wednesday night, April 8 2009, Scott McIntyre was voted off American Idol Season 8. The judges really struggled with their decision to let this Idol hopeful go home. Two judges wanted him to stay and two judges thought McIntyre should leave the show. But, at the end this was the end of the road for Scott McIntyre.

The other 2 that made it to the bottom three this week were Lil Rounds and Anoop Desai. I hope Lil Rounds shows her best performance next week. If she doesn't it looks like she just might be the next contestant to go. It is now down to the Top 7. However, any contestant that made it to the Top 10 will be able to perform in the summer concerts.

Kellie Pickler was one of the former American Idol contestants from Season 5 to perform tonight. And a very good Hip Hop Artist performed. As soon as I can find his name I'll post it here.

On Tuesday night's show, the Top 8 contestants each sang a song from the year they were born.

Casey Anthony In Interrogation Room | Released Tapes

Now here is a 'psychopath' or a 'sociopath' -- I don't know which term is correct -- in action. Casey Anthony has lied one too many times. She is so convincing that I hope no one in her past has been sent to jail or lost their sanity due to her manipulative ways.

According to some recent reports concerning this case there should be enough evidence to convict her, but we will see what will happen with Casey Anthony. If I were a betting person, I wouldn't bet on this one. Casey Anthony could walk from this case if the prosecutors botch it. I have heard that Anthony has plenty of 'lonely' men who want to take care of her. Now... that shows how persuasive she is over unsuspecting and weak beings.

Is Lindsay Lohan the Latest Celebrity Train Wreck?

It seems like poor Lindsay Lohan can't do anything right for the past 2 years or so. Check out the first video clip below to find out when things started to go wrong for this talented young actress and how things just spiraled downward from then on.

Lohan broke up with her 'girlfriend,' Samantha Ronson, over the weekend and there have been rumors of changing locks and Ronson's family asking law enforcement how they should go about getting a 'restraining order.' And to top all that, just a few days Lindsay Lohan jumped onstage at a Lily Allen concert. After a while Lohan didn't seem to know what to do with herself. I was embarrassed for Lohan.

Chris Brown pleads not guilty in court Monday evening in Los Angeles. He is accused of assaulting his pop singer girlfriend, Rihanna. The alleged attack happened in February.

Brown is looking at 2 felony charges:

Assault by means likely to produce bodily injury and making Criminal Threats.

Where was Rihanna when Chris Brown was in court? She was in her native Barbados. Her lawyer, Donald Etra, made a statement that Rihanna will testify if required by the court. However, her attorney added that Rihanna wants the case to move 'quickly.'

When is Chris Brown's next court date? April 29 2009.

Pittsburgh Shooter Had On Bullet Proof Vest

Around 7 a.m. this morning police were called to a house in a Pittsburgh community about a domestic situation. Inside the home, a man wearing a bullet proof vest opened fire on police officers. The shooter killed 3 officers. Friends in the neighborhood say the man was afraid that the Obama administration was on its way to banning guns.

However, Pittsburgh police say the motive is not clear. The gunman was apprehended and led to the local jail. Check out the two recent video reports, below:

Binghamton Gunman Motive | Video

Authorities think they have found a motive in the Binghamton massacre. The gunman, Jiverly Voong, was said to have been depressed from losing his job and receiving taunts from his broken English.

Officials in Binghamton, NY say a man who killed 13 people at an immigrant community center was angry about his poor English skills and upset after losing his job.~AP

Megan Joy Voted Off American Idol 8 | April 1 2009

This week on American Idol 8 the voters got it right this time. Megan Joy was voted off. This contestant had a lot of energy and a great face for the cameras, but she could not sing. And isn't that why you are on the show? Aren't you trying to get a record deal? Maybe she will get one with some music executive out there. However, I don't see many MP3 Downloads of her music. Of course, I could be wrong. Sometimes people support an 'artist' simply because they like the person for other reasons.

The other two contestants that made it to the bottom 3 this week were Allison Iraheta and Anoop Desai. Simon said that only one out of the three was worth saving. And we know who that was. But, the judges did not have to be faced with that decision tonight after Allison Iraheta was told she was 'safe' to continue in the competition.

Donte Stallworth Charged With DUI | Video

Unfortunately, this is no 'April Fool's joke' for Donte Stallworth. The charges are real.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth was charged Wednesday with killing a pedestrian last month while driving drunk after a night out at a swank South Beach nightspot.~AP

According to Miami Beach law enforcement, Stallworth's blood alcohol level was .12 on the morning of March 14h. The legal blood alcohol limit is .08. Stallworth could face up to 15 years in prison.

The deceased was a construction worker. Mario Reyes, 59, is survived by his wife and 15-year-old daughter. Stallworh has not spoken publicly since the accident, but did release a statement describing himself as "grief stricken over the tragic accident."

Cleveland Browns receiver Donte' Stallworth was suspended by the NFL indefinitely without pay following his guilty plea to DUI manslaughter in the death of a pedestrian, the league announced Thursday.

Stallworth was sentenced in a Miami court Tuesday to 30 days in jail, a controversial ruling that drew a great deal of criticism.

Commissioner Roger Goodell wrote a detailed letter to Stallworth explaining the stiff penalty levied by the league.

"The conduct reflected in your guilty plea resulted in the tragic loss of life and was inexcusable," Goodell wrote. "While the criminal justice system has determined the legal consequences of this incident, it is my responsibility as NFL commissioner to determine the appropriate league discipline for your actions, which have caused irreparable harm to the victim and his family, your club, your fellow players and the NFL."~source
