Sunday night, the 47-year-old YouTube singing sensation hit the stage for the second time on Britain's Got Talent. It was obvious that this time around Boyle had received a makeover. And she was a little nervous starting out singing "Memories" from the Broadway play, Cats. However, Boyle was able to recover and ended strong and confident. She received a standing ovation from the show's judges (see video below) and thunderous applause from the audience.
The winner of the current season of "Britain's Got Talent" will be announced on May 30 and receive $159,000 prize and the ability to perform in front of members of the royal family at Britain's annual Royal Variety Show.

Today, the former teacher, Mary Kay Letourneau, is 47 years old and her husband, Vili Fualaau, is a mature 25 years old. They make a lovely couple, don't you think?

But, both finalists were extremely talented and according to the American Idol executives there were around 100 million votes coming in with Kris Allen receiving the majority. Of course, some of the Adam Lambert fans are pissed and said that Adam was robbed. It's the same script every year. There is always a shocker at the end. It's to be expected now with the American Idol franchise.
Last night was an extraordinary night of entertainment heavy hitters joining the Top 13 American Idol 8 contestants. It was 2 hours of fast packed and breathtaking performances, especially Adam's number with the rock group KISS. And, Kris' best performance last night was with Keith Urban. It was awesome.

Now... the playlist below starts with a Christian Bale interview at the "Terminator:Salvation" movie premiere. The move opens Thursday, May 21, 2009 in U.S. Theaters. Months after his famous on-set rant, Christian Bale was his usual polite self at the world premiere. And, this is the first Terminator movie without Arnold Schwarzenegger. It should be exciting to watch. I know I will be checking it out.

After two weeks of searching for former UGA Communications Professor, George Zinkhan, authorities located his body in the hills of Northern Georgia. The professor murdered his wife and two other individuals and walked away. Apparently, he committed suicide shortly thereafter. A cadaver dog was able to locate his body. Prof. Zinkhan had dug a grave for and cover himself with brush right before committing suicide. Authorities will not say the cause of his death, but they did state that two guns were discovered beside his body.
Friday, May 15, 2009, it was reported that Zinkhan's family will not claim his body at the morgue. There is a video news report below:
Surprise! Surprise! Danny Gokey got voted off American Idol last night, May 13 2009. American Idol Season 8 really kept the audience waiting and I might add the drama was real. I believe I sat through every commercial for the full hour of the show.
The Top 3 AI contestants last night - Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, Danny Gokey - anxiously waited for the announcement to be made. But, first they had to endure three performances and the video footage of their trip back home where they were greeted by their hometown fans.
Alicia Keys announced her charity and a young man from Rwanda performed. He was fun to watch. It looks like the Rwandan has a bright future. The other two performers from last night were Katy Perry and Jordin Sparks. Their performances were full of energy!
All 3 contestants had plenty of fans awaiting their arrival at home. It was the usual setup. There was nothing new and surprising there. I don't know how AI can make that scene more interesting, but I guess having the top 3 return home for a brief celebration after getting this far in America's Number 1 singing talent competition is a big thing. The kids in all the towns across America seem to really enjoy the experience.
Finally, at the end of the show is the surprising news. And, I was holding my breath because I know that American Idol is full of surprises. According to Ryan Seacrest, over 88 million people voted. And this is how he doled out the result: First, Seacrest informed Kris Allen that he was safe! And I'm like - OMG that means that either Adam Lambert or Danny Gokey goes home. Well, we didn't have to wait too long. Seacrest announced that Adam Lambert would be the next contestant to move into the final. Danny Gokey got voted off American Idol Season 8 on May 13, 2009. What a relief! I was glad to hear that Adam Lambert would be in next week's finale!
A lot of AI viewers thought that the final two contestants would be Lambert and Gokey, but Kris Allen really nailed it, Tuesday night, with his rendition of Kanye West's "Heartless." Check out Kris' version below:

This week on Celebs Watch Weekly we find Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon celebrating their first year of wedded bliss. And we said it wouldn't last a year. Mariah and Nick proved us wrong on that one. Let's see if it will last another year. I wish them the best. I hope their marriage will last forever.
The next clip presents Sharon Stone in a good mood, then a bad mood, then back to a good mood. It's an interesting clip.
The third video clip below shows "9 to 5 on Broadway." The original stars, from the movie version years ago, attended the performance. Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton, and Jane Fonda look absolutely fabulous and all three sound great! These are strong women with strong opinions. It's worth viewing.
I enjoyed watching the 4th and 5th video clips in this playlist, below. Can you believe Zac Ephron is on Time Magazine's list of influential people? Well, I can. These "tween" stars are changing the world! Also, check out the charismatic 42nd President of the United States, He was honored at a star-studded fundraiser in Hollywood. Clinton is always entertaining.
Mine That Bird went off at 50-1 odds Saturday, but that was only one measure of how little attention he garnered before pulling away in the stretch to score a 6 3/4-length victory at Churchill Downs, the second-biggest stunner in Derby history. The margin was the largest since Assault won by eight lengths in 1946.
"All I asked him was to lay the horse back and be patient, and he did that magically," Woolley said.
That should have been no surprise since Borel used the same rail-hugging ride to win the Derby two years ago with Street Sense.~source
Pacquiao did not disappoint his fans. Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao fights British boxer Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 2 2009. Now, the next big fight could be "Pacman vs Mayweather!"
This story was just too good to pass up. Here's some very good raw video of a small plane after it crashes into portable toilets. The pilot was able to walk away. . . thanks to the "Porta Potties!" You can't make this stuff up. [LOL]
The pilot of a small airplane was able to walk away after its crash landing was cushioned by a bunch of portable toilets near Tacoma, Washington. (May 2)~AP
It's official. Earlier today, President Obama interrupted Press Secretary Robert Gibb's daily White House briefing. The president announced he had just received word that Judge Souter will retire in June.
Justice David Souter, 69, was appointed by President George H. W. Bush in 1990. There is much speculation that President Obama might appoint a woman to the vacant post to join the other female Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Justice Ginsberg was appointed by President Clinton in 1993. The first woman appointed to the Supreme Court, Sandra Day O'Connor, retired in 2005 at the age of 75. Justice O'Connor was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1981 by Ronald Reagan.
Justice Souter consistently made it known that he did not love Washington, DC. This is one of his famous quotes:
I have the world's best job in the world's worst city.
I think it is good for the judge to get out now while he is healthy and able to enjoy his senior years. He will retire to his family farm in New Hampshire. Justice Souter is a lifetime bachelor who abhors all things technical. According to Jeffry Toobin's observations documented in his book, The Nine, Justice Souter writes with a fountain pen and eschews email, cell phones, and television. Justice Souter sounds like a 21st century Henry David Thoreau.
Law enforcement Authorities have located wanted UGA Professor Zinkhan's vehicle. His Jeep was found in a ravine. However, there are no signs of the professor. Some people are speculating that he has committed suicide at this point.
Last Saturday the 57-year-old marketing professor had an argument with his wife. It escalated to a point that it resulted in his killing her and two other people in the community. The AP video report, below, does a good job in updating the situation.
It's a tragedy and the professor is still at-large. He is considered armed and dangerous.
If you have never been to Las Vegas, especially to the Encore, you might not have heard of Danny Gans. His show was one of the hottest in Las Vegas. Danny Gans died this morning, May 1, 2009, of an apparent heart attack.
This is the breaking news from TMZ.com:
TMZ has learned a 911 call was made by a family member at 3:44 AM for a 52-year-old man who was "having trouble breathing." By the time medics arrived, Gans had already passed away.
UPDATE: TMZ received the following statement from The Mirage, where Gans performed for years: "All of us in The Mirage family are deeply saddened to learn of Danny's passing. We all knew of his devotion to his family and our hearts and prayers are with his wife and children."
As the news develops on this tragedy I will update here.
R.I.P. Danny Gans:
Danny Gans, 52, a musical impressionist, was named "Entertainer of the Year" in Las Vegas. He signed a $150 million dollar contract in 2000. Gans was called the "Man of Many Voices" and appeared at The Encore Wynn, Las Vegas.
Vice President Joe Biden, known for his many 'gaffes' after 30 years on the 'Hill,' was at it again Thursday as a guest on the Today show. Matt Lauer interviewed the 'always entertaining' Joe Biden and asked about his advice to his own family during this scary time of dealing with the possibility of a flu pandemic. NOTE:The World Health Organization (WHO) has renamed the term "swine flu," referring to the disease that infected 257 people worldwide, to "influenza A (H1N1)."
Joe Biden said that he would advise his family not to travel on any plane or subway right now due to enclosed conditions:
“So, from my perspective, what it relates to is mitigation. If you’re out in the middle of a field when someone sneezes, that’s one thing. If you’re in a closed aircraft or closed container or closed car or closed classroom, it’s a different thing.”~source
Well... after the Vice President made these remarks (see video below) Press Secretary Robert Gibbs issued an apology and continued by saying that what Biden said and meant to say are two different things.
Biden’s office later sought to clarify his remarks by saying he was only urging sick people to avoid planes and trains.~source
Wow... let's hope all these apologies and clarifications will be strong enough to prevent an adverse effect on the air travel industry, subway stations, and bus stations across the nation going into the summer months.
