In Las Vegas, investigators searched the home and office of the doctor who was with Michael Jackson when he died. Dr. Conrad Murray is at the center of a manslaughter investigation. Other doctors who have administered powerful drugs to the late Michael Jackson also are being investigated.
Dr. Conrad Murray has emerged as the primary target in the death of Michael Jackson -- but law enforcement sources tell us a massive investigation is taking form into what could be fraudulent prescription practices of more than a dozen doctors ... and we're told that number could easily double.
LAPD detectives and members of the L.A. County Coroner's office are gathering info on various doctors who treated Michael Jackson over the years. Subpoenas have been issued, medical files have been taken and conversation with various doctors and their lawyers are taking place.~sourcee
Official word from the police is that Murray is not yet being charged with manslaughter, and that he is fully cooperating with investigation officials. Toxicology reports have not yet been released; however, investigators are operating under the assumption that Propofol caused Jackson's heart to fail.
Murray became Jackson's doctor in May and reportedly administered the drug intrevenously, with Jackson deciding what time to fall asleep with the aid of the drug and what time to awaken, dictating to Murray at what time to stop the IV.~source

After serving 23 months in prison for illegal dogfighting and gambling, Michael Vick has been conditionally reinstated into the NFL by commissioner Roger Goodell.
Commissioner Goodell reached this decision on Sunday:
"First off, I understand that position. What Michael did was cruel and horrific, and we recognize that, of course, and I believe Michael recognizes that,'' Goodell said Monday in a conference call explaining his decision to consider fully reinstating the disgraced Vick by Week 6 (Oct. 18-19.
"I hope it was based on fairness,'' Goodell said. "On the ability to understand a young man and the position that he's in. I'm a believer personally, and it probably falls over in my decision making, that if somebody recognizes either mistakes or poor judgment or things that they can do better going forward, that the general public will recognize that and give people an opportunity to prove themselves.
"That's what I'm trying to do, to give Michael an opportunity to prove to me and others that he deserves the opportunity to play in the NFL again."~source
Do I think Michael Vick deserves a second chance? Well... it's not up to me, but Yes... I think Michael Vick should be forgiven and have the opportunity to play again in the NFL and make a living in our society. He did the crime and paid the time. It's time for rehabilitation.
Why crucify the man? What happened to practicing our religious beliefs? Aren't we taught to forgive? Isn't the young man remorseful?
Michael Vick explained in an earlier interview that his upbringing in an impoverished environment in Virginia led him to the illegal 'dogfighting' sport. He was introduced to it at 8-years-of-age. Some people don't understand this type of 'indoctrination,' but it exists and it is unfortunate that children are involved in this type of activity. Maybe Vick's bust can help children see that this is wrong so they can refuse to participate in illegal dogfighting.
About an hour ago, Cambridge police released the 911 call that eventually led to the arrest of Henry Louis Gates Jr. over a week ago. First you will hear the dispatch call to police, then you will hear conversation between the 911 caller and the police.
Now... I wonder if Ms Whalen is saying to herself, "Boy, I wish I had never made that call." It's unfortunate that she even had to get a lawyer as a result of being a "concerned citizen." I hope my neighbors continue to look out for me if they suspect someone is breaking in my house. This has to be a nightmare for her and the whole neighborhood in Cambridge, MA. You know, the prez ought to invite Ms Whalen to join the guys in the White House for that "historical drink of beer." Don't 'cha think?
'Stolen Base King' Rickey Henderson, 50, was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame Sunday. Henderson also scored more runs than any other player. He played for 25 years. Two other all time greats, Jim Rice, 56, and the late Joe Gordon, also were inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame during the annual ceremonies behind the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown.

Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin resigns as Alaska governor. In a farewell speech Sunday in Fairbanks, she warned against big government but gave few clues about her long-term political plans. I don't think we have heard the last of Sarah Palin. She has a strong support group in the conservative base and there are plans for her future in politics.
Even though she is seen as 'a quitter' by some politicians, there is discussion of her possible candidacy for president of the USA in 2012. Knowing how political campaigns turn out, who knows if this can be achieved? Sarah Palin, the first woman on the Republican VP ticket, should provide plenty of 'drama' for the media in the months to come.
Was this a case of postpartum depression? A 33-year-old mother repeatedly stabs and decapitates her 3 1/2 weeks old baby boy. She said that the 'devil' made her do it. There were two other children left unharmed. Was this woman overwhelmed and isolated, in this rural area, with 3 young children? Where was the father?
Police said they found a 3 1/2-week-old infant stabbed and decapitated in a Texas home on Sunday and his mother screaming that she killed her son after the devil told her to do it.~AP
Former American Idol, season 7, contestant Alexis Cohen, best remembered as “Glitter Girl” was found dead early Saturday morning (July 25) in Pennsylvania.
Alexis Cohen was found by the edge of a road in Seaside Heights at 4am after a driver and passenger noticed her body and called 911. She was rushed to a nearby medical center where she was officially pronounced dead at 6:30 am.
An autopsy of Cohen’s body revealed chest and abdominal injuries and a closed head injury caused by collision with a vehicle. Police are currently treating her death as a homicide.~source
Alexis Cohen gave quite a performance after she was rejected by Simon, Paula, and Randy. She gave a rant that extended all the way down the escalator and out the door of the hotel. She told everyone what she thought of Simon Cowell even though he remarked that her voice was suited more for a band. Paula told her that she was talented.
There is a rumor going around that she was slated for another audition this upcoming season. However, after she left the audition room, Simon Cowell said she reminded him of Wilhem Dafoe as the 'Green Hornet' character in the Spiderman movie.

Police say 25-year-old former American Idol hopeful Alexis Cohen has been hit and killed by a car in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. Police have apprehended a New Jersey man Sunday in the hit-and-run death.
Daniel Bark, 23, of Toms River hit Cohen in his 2005 Mitsubishi Gallant and quickly left the scene Saturday, the police reported. Bark has been charged with second-degree manslaughter, and faces 10 to 15 years in prison if convicted.~source

The CPD is demanding an apology from President Obama for saying that Officer Crowley and the CPD 'acted stupidly' in arresting Harvard Professor Gates. You can view the press conference on the YouTube Video, below.
President Obama responded today and attempted 'damage control,' stopping short of making an apology. However, the President has invited Prof. Gates and Officer Crowley to join him for a beer in the White House at a later date.
Later today it was announced that Officer Crowley and the Professor accepted the President's invitation. It should be interesting to hear how the meeting goes. I'm pretty sure everyone will be cordial in the White House.
Just a few hours ago the DEA raided the Houston office of Dr. Conrad Murray. He was the late Michael Jackson's live-in doctor who was at Jackson’s home during the "King of Pop's" fatal heart attack on June 25 2009 in Los Angeles.
Eight Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) vehicles, around two dozen DEA agents, Houston police, and two Los Angeles Police Department detectives were on hand for the raid at Armstrong Medical Clinic. Building officials were served with a sealed search warrant.
Murray was not at his office at the time of the raid.
I wonder why they waited almost a whole month after Michael Jackson's sudden death to raid the Doc's office. A lot of incriminating evidence might have been removed by now. Anyway... this is a developing story. I'll keep you updated if I hear anything else.

Susan Boyle captured the hearts of Americans and audiences worldwide. I think she will be singing on tonight's "America's Got Talent" show at 9 pm ET. Boyle, the singing sensation from Britain’s Got Talent, was catapulted into worldwide fame after capturing the hearts of those who heard her sing. Unfortunately, she says, fame wasn’t so easy to deal with. She says it hit her like “a giant demolition ball.”~source

Some women say that if a man batters you once, he'll do it again. But, I've heard from women who have witnessed and experienced domestic violence say that there are cases where a man is "truly sorry" and never returns to battering any woman ever again.
Chris Brown appears to be sincere. I just hope he is remorseful. He is only 19-years-old and deserves a second chance after intensive counseling. Check out the video:
A dramatic rescue in Milwaukee was caught on tape, Sunday afternoon. Neighbors rushed to save a family of three after their van hit a tree, flipped, and immediately burst into flames.

A passerby [see Fox Video below] recorded the fantastic rescue with his video camera. This is how the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel describes it:
The video shows the 1992 Chevrolet Blazer on its left side near S. 22nd Place and W. Layton Ave., its back half engulfed in flames and black smoke.
Two men eventually use metal pipes to break through the windshield, freeing the woman, who is a 32-year-old Tennessee resident, and her 2-year-old daughter.
They suffered minor injuries, police said.
The woman’s 4-year-old son was still trapped inside.
Two brothers - John and Joel Rechlitz, who are Milwaukee firefighters and were off duty - were notified of the fire by one of their wives, who lives near the scene and saw the crash, said Tiffany Wynn, a Fire Department spokeswoman.
The video shows the off-duty firefighters trying to reach the boy through the windshield while off-duty police Lt. Mark Wroblewski sprays a fire extinguisher into the vehicle.
At one point the entire upper body of one of the off-duty firefighters is inside the vehicle before he pulls the boy out of the SUV.
The boy suffered burns to at least 30% of his body and was in surgery Sunday night at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, according to police and fire officials. His condition was not available.~MJS
The Italian Court in Perugia, Italy adjourned the American Amanda Knox Trial until September. The court takes a 2-month summer break. Eighty prosecution witnesses have been called in for this trial that started in January 2009. And only about 30 defense witnesses have taken the stand simply because a lot of those witnesses would not even show up. However, when court resumes in the middle of September final defense witnesses should help wrap everything and the trial should be over in November 2009. This will be two years after Meredith Kercher was found murdered.
American Knox, 22, is jointly charged with her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 25, of the s** killing of the British student.
Meredith, 21, was found semi naked and with her throat cut in her bedroom of the house she shared with Knox.
Prosecutors have told the court in Perugia where Meredith was killed that she died after refusing to take part in a drug fuelled s** party.~source

Her life's story is very interesting and inspiring for young people, especially from modest beginnings. Sonia Sotomayor has a supportive family. Also, she has a high self-esteem. These are what helped her to achieve her goals in life.
Now it seems that she will receive the ultimate reward from her years of hard work by being confirmed as the next U.S. Supreme Court Justice.

Is that photo of the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, telling the whole truth at the G8 Summit this week, or is it deceiving? It looks like the Prez is trying to take a peek at the the young girl's derriere aka butt - behind - tush - or however you refer to it (The young woman is a Junior Delegate from Brazil). Some folks will say of course that is what he is doing. He is a man, after all. But, after viewing the video some folks will change their opinion and realize that he was only turning his head in that direction to help the other young lady step down.
Our 44th U.S. Prez is such a gentleman. Now... the President of France, Sarkozy, is quite obvious as to what he is viewing and he isn't worried about criticism in the least.
I say President Obama was 'sneaking a peek,' but he was his usual cool self. Since looking at an attractive woman is no big deal to the French, Sarkozy doesn't have to worry about any fall-out when he looks. And, I think that is quite alright. Why be so uptight about taking a look at an attractive young woman? What's the big deal? Now, if our President starts going the way of "Clinton and his last affair with the intern" we will have a real scandal on our hands.

And it looks like he is trying his best to get away from the cameras.
Video Clip #2: Check out Robert Pattinson cutting a solitary figure as he wanders around a New York cemetery in between shooting scenes for his latest movie "Remember Me". He's trying to hide, but the 'paps' caught him.
Video Clip #3: Fantasia, Quincy Jones, Mariah Carey and others converged on Harlem on June 8, 2009 to celebrate the Apollo Theater's 75th Anniversary. Interviews by Mariel Concepcion. This is fun to watch. Quincy Jones has been around for a while. It's worth viewing this clip just to hear what he says.
Video Clip #4: Paris Hilton steps outside the courthouse to take a break in the smoking area during her trial in Miami. Hilton is the defendant in a lawsuit in which she is being sued for $8 million by investors in her 2006 film "Pledge This!." Plaintiffs claim she failed to promote the DVD release of the film. The Cops in Tennessee held a press conference yesterday and they have concluded that 20-year-old Iranian-American, Sahel Kazemi, murdered football great Steve McNair, 36, then turned the 9 mm semi-automatic gun on herself.
Last Thursday, Kazemi, was arrested and charged with DUI while Steve McNair and another 'unknown' backseat passenger sat in the Escalade SUV registered to Kazemi and McNair. While the cop was processing Kazemi in the squad car McNair and his friend called a taxi and left the scene. The young mistress had to call a friend to pick up her SUV.
You can hear on the dash-cam video below that Kazemi expected McNair to walk to the squad car. Unfortunately, he chose to turn his back on his mistress and leave the scene as soon as possible. After all, the popular and well-respected former football player was a married man.
We don't really know what conspired after the arrest and the bail out hours later by McNair but we do know, according to the cops, that Sahel Kazemi purchased the gun hours after being released from jail. In the 'wee' on the morning of the 4th of July, Kazemi waited for her 'lover' to return to the downtown condo he co-rented with another man after McNair finished bar-hopping on the eve of the Independence Day.
The cops believe Kazemi murdered McNair after he fell asleep on the couch. There are no signs of struggle. According to the police, McNair did not feel a thing. After putting 4 bullets (2 to the chest and 2 to the head) into McNair, Sahel Kazemi turned the gun on herself. She put one bullet in her right temple, according to the police.

Michael Jackson's Public Memorial Service on July 7 2009 was peaceful and it was beautifully done. It was fit for a King, the "King of Pop," the-one-and-only Michael Jackson! I can only imagine the awesome experience the lucky ticket holders had inside of the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
The entertainers, athletes, and activists asked by the family to pay their tribute to Michael Jackson all entertained and spoke well about their friend, Michael Jackson. The Jackson family was a "class act." Michael Jackson was part of a close knit and loving family.
And, no matter what we say or think of his father, Joe Jackson, that man is the father of this family and Michael Jackson would not have been born had it not been for Katherine and Joe Jackson. All the Jackson children love their father, Joe, even with his faults. None of us are perfect and I can just about guarantee that all of us have done and said something stupid in our lives. I even think I was a little hard on 'Joe.' But, from now on I will leave the criticism of Joe Jackson to his family. This is family and I'll leave it at that.

Lionel Richie sang "Jesus is Love."
Michael Jackson's brother, Jermaine, paid his personal tribute by singing Michael Jackson's favorite song, "Smile." The late Charlie Chaplin composed the music to "Smile" while the lyrics were written by John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons. It is a beautiful song. Even though the singer in the song is telling you to cheer up and that there is always a bright tomorrow as long as you smile, it's kind of a sad song.
At the very end of the program, Michael Jackson's 11-year-old daughter, Paris Katherine, had something to say to everyone. The child gave a heart-wrenching good-bye to her father, Michael Jackson. I have that wonderful tribute at the end of the Playlist, below.
Michael Jackson's Memorial Service is scheduled for today, July 7 2009, at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA.
Crowds are pouring in to Los Angeles from around the world to pay their respects to Michael Jackson, the King of Pop. However, only fans with tickets to this grand memorial service will be able to enter the Staples Center and Nokia Theater starting at 6 a.m. PT (9 a.m. ET).
Michael Jackson's memorial is bringing more revenue into the city of Los Angeles with parking lot owners raising their prices, airport shuttle traffic increasing, local movie theaters providing special screenings of the event.
The local police are expecting upwards of one million people to converge in the area and they expect the crowds to be peaceful, keeping in mind why they have gathered in the area on this special day. Los Angeles will foot the bill for law enforcement protection.
All the major TV networks and cable stations will broadcast the Jackson Memorial Service live. Also, you'll be able to see streaming video on some websites.
Today, the Jackson family will have a private funeral at the Hollywood Hills Forest Lawn Cemetery beginning at 8 a.m. PT (11 a.m. ET). Later, the family will travel to the Staples Center for the Memorial Service. I've heard rumors that Michael Jackson's body will be transported to the Staples Center. I guess we will all find out when the Memorial Service begins.
Some notable participants in the Memorial Service have been announced. They are:
Mariah Carey, Usher, Stevie Wonder, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Jennifer Hudson, John Mayer, Smokey Robinson, Martin Luther King III, and the Rev Al Sharpton.
Elizabeth Taylor and Debbie Rowe decided not to attend the Michael Jackson Memorial Service.
Michael Jackson went into cardiac arrest and died in his rented mansion in California on June 25 2009. The cause of his death is undetermined at this point in the investigation.
The Jackson family will have a private funeral before the public memorial service scheduled for Tuesday , July 7 2009, according to an Associated Press report. The private funeral service for the 'King of Pop' will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in the Hollywood Hills.
Who won Jackson Memorial passes? Well... 1.6 million fans waited Sunday to find out if they were among the lucky few to be able to attend the public ceremony in Staples Center and the screen presentation in the Nokia Theater.
The tickets will admit 11,000 people to the Staples Center plus 6,500 in the Nokia Theater overflow section next door. The streets around the stadium will be closed to prevent those without tickets from trying to attend, police said Sunday.
Assistant Police Chief Jim McDonnell warned people without tickets to stay away: "You'll be standing in the hot sun on a city street with a lot of other people ... but not within eyeshot of Staples."
Jackson died at age 50 on June 25 after going into cardiac arrest in the bedroom of his rented mansion. The cause of Jackson's death has not been determined. Autopsy results are not expected for several weeks.~source

Roger Federer was the victor in Wimbledon Men's Final today against his formidable opponent, Andy Roddick. It was a battle going all the way to the 5th set. the scores were: 5-7, 7-6, 7-6, 3-6, 16-14 (no tie-breaker allowed in the final set).
Federer was determined to make history by winning his 15th Grand Slam Title which would break his tie with Pete Sampras for the most ever. And he did just that. Federer owns an 18-and-2 lifetime record against Roddick. Also, Federer beat Roddick in the 2004 and 2005 Wimbledon finals.
However, Andy Roddick made Federer earn his place in history. Roddick received a standing ovation for such a valiant attempt at defeating Federer. Roger Federer says that his 15th major title is his most satisfying after being made to fight to the bitter end by Andy Roddick.

Michael Jackson’s British bodyguard Matt Fiddes has told Sky News how he confiscated prescription drugs and needles from the star in a desperate attempt to stop his use of painkillers. And he mentioned in this interview, below, that Michael Jackson had a secret girlfriend. According to the bodyguard this girlfriend has been with Michael for several years now and the Jackson family is aware of the relationship.

There is more shocking news! Steve Mcnair, 36, died from a fatal gunshot wound today. His body was discovered aorund 1:35 p.m. He was shot to death inside a residence.
Coming out of tiny Alcorn State in 1995, Steve McNair became the first black quarterback drafted in the top three picks. He went on to pass for 31,304 yards and 174 touchdowns in 13 NFL seasons.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Former Titans quarterback Steve McNair has been killed. Police said McNair suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head in downtown Nashville.
The incident happened near 2nd South & Lea Avenue. A female victim was also found dead.
According to Don Aaron with the Metro Nashville Police Department, no suspects have been taken into custody. Several people were being taken to police headquarters for questioning.~source

This is breaking news! Sarah Palin just announced a few minutes ago that she is resigning her position as Governor. She will step down by the end of the month. The state's lieutenant governor will assume the role as governor of Alaska.
This is out of character for a fighter like Sarah Palin, the first woman in the Republican party to run for Vice President of the United States. I know that she was under constant attack ever since she came on the national scene, but I never thought in a million years she would just walk away, quit, as Governor. Palin gives her reasons in her speech, below, but it just doesn't sound right. If there is a scandal we don't know about I'm sure it will surface pretty soon.
Palin's father, Chuck Heath, told Fox News that he thought her resignation was due to the negativity from the media. According to Heath, the governor was unable to be effective while she was constantly having to defend herself against ethics complaints and the media.~source
AEG Live, the promoter of Michael Jackson's last concert tour, is making 11,000 tickets to Michael Jackson’s memorial service free to fans. According to organizers, Fans wishing to attend the service will have to register for the free tickets.
The official date for Michael Jackson's funeral/memorial service is Tuesday, July 7th, 10:00 a.m. ET at the Staples Center.
There was a rumor that tickets were being sold for $25.00 each, along with t-shirts. I guess they might have tried to charge for this huge event because of the state of California will not be able to foot the bill for such a grand event in the city of Los Angeles. I know it's Michael Jackson and he gave so much to the world, but somebody or some organization, or group of wealthy individuals will need to provide the funds for covering the Jackson Memorial Service. I have a feeling they won't have a problem finding the funds.

AEG, the promoters of Michael Jackson's upcoming concert "This Is It" in London just released video [see below] from Michael Jackson’s last rehearsal on Tuesday. Unfortunately, due to Jackson's untimely death last Thursday, the 50-concert series will never happen. There have been reports that Michael Jackson was rail thin but Michael Jackson has always been thin and he did not look any smaller than usual, to me.

According to Roger Friedman of the Hollywood Reporter, Michael Jackson's funeral is scheduled for 10 am on Tuesday July 7 at Los Angeles’ Staples Center. AEG will put gigantic screens outside the facilities for the thousands of people who will gather outside.
The US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) has now joined the LAPD investigation into Jackson’s death due to Doctors possibly administering powerful drugs illegally to Jackson.
Jackson’s brother, Jermaine, speaks to Matt Lauer of the Today Show. He says he’d be hurt if it turns out Michael’s death is due to drug abuse. Also, Jermaine would like to see Michael buried at Neverland Ranch.
MSNBC reported that Debbie Rowe, the ex-wife and mother of two of Michael Jackson's children tells NBC LA that she will seek custody of her children. She might be speaking out now that she just found out she was cut out of Jackson's will?
It never ceases to amaze me. Why do people keep 12-foot Burmese Pythons as pets, especially around babies, toddlers, and any children under 16? Actually, I don't think that anyone should have a snake that can strangle you to death as a pet. What are people thinking? Check out the story below and listen to the 911 call. A 12-foot pet Burmese python broke out of a [terrarium] and strangled a 2-year-old girl in her bedroom Wednesday at a central Florida home, authorities said.
Shaunia Hare was already dead when paramedics arrived at about 10 a.m., Lt. Bobby Caruthers of the Sumter County Sheriff's Office said.
Charles Jason Darnell, the snake's owner and the boyfriend of Shaunia's mother, discovered the snake missing from its [terrarium] and went to the girl's room, where he found it on the girl and bite marks on her head, Caruthers said. Darnell, 32, stabbed the snake until he was able to pry the child away.~source
The Associated Press just reported that no public memorial will take place this weekend for Michael Jackson. Just yesterday a 'supposedly' reliable source reported that the Jackson Family had decided on an 'open casket' memorial service for the late Michael Jackson at his beloved Neverland Ranch.
An insider informed AP that plans for Michael Jackson's funeral are still 'up in the air.' Also, it was reported earlier that there would be a 30-car motorcade Thursday from Los Angeles to the Neverland Ranch. Check out the latest video news report, below:
