Raw Video | Killer Whale Kills Trainer Report

Should we call Tilikum a "serial" killer whale since 2 other incidents have been documented where he killed in his 30 years of captivity? [Just kidding... Actually, these are huge, beautiful animals, who belong in their natural habitat, the ocean.] Authorities at SeaWorld Orlando have said that it is out of the question to return Tilikum to his natural habitat. He would not be able to survive on his own in "the wild." And the gigantic mammal will not be euthanized.

Zebra Escapes | Downtown Atlanta

Is this Zebra trying to tell us something? Is this Zebra crying out for help? PETA might want to look into this one. But, all this aside, it is a beautiful animal. . .
The zebra, part of the Ringling Bros. circus was apparently startled by something and, rather than simply waiting around to see what was going on, it made a break for a hole in the fence and headed into traffic.

Police and other officials tried to round up the animal which made its way past the Georgia Dome, past CNN headquarters and down to the interstate, where it was finally caught.

According to the vet, aside from a little hoof damage from running on concrete, the zebra is fine and will be back to performing unnatural tricks for children in no time. Watch video of the incident here.~source

Tiger Woods Apologizes | Full Video

Golfing Great Tiger Woods finally made his highly anticipated public appearance after going into seclusion following that "almost tragic" last Thanksgiving night incident.

On Friday, February 19, 2010, Tiger Woods issued an apology for his extramarital affairs. Woods issued many apologies to his fans, business partners, employees, family, and wife, Elin. Tiger said he felt he was "entitled" to act on the temptations around him due to fame and fortune, following the statement with "...but I don't get to play by different rules."

Woods also confirmed speculation that he was in therapy, saying he spent 45 days in in-patient therapy and would return the next day. After a plea to the media to stop staking out his family, Tiger announced he is a practicing Buddhist and has strayed from his faith, and he issued a famous Buddhist Quote related to his problem.

I sincerely believe Tiger Woods is remorseful. Actually, he did not owe the public an apology for his past transgression. However, to salvage what's left of his 'image' a public statement was necessary. You know, a lot of times we forget that the 'very poor' and the 'very rich' people in this world have feelings. I choose to feel compassion for Tiger Woods.

I once had a long conversation with a famous athlete who appeared a little troubled with some issues in his life at the time. However, you would never know it on the surface. This man was and is incredibly well-known worldwide and his athletic accomplishments were outstanding. In fact, a lot of critics said that what this man achieved could not be done, yet he did it. He told me to be careful about criticizing top athletes, especially 'minority' athletes, simply because 'we as the general public' have no clue what these athletes go through in their professional lives.

Breaking: Amy Bishop Was Suspect In 1993 Plot To Bomb Harvard Professor

At first I thought it would be highly unlikely that the UAH shooter, Dr. Amy Bishop, would kill fellow faculty members over a "tenure" dispute. Now, after reading the circumstances leading up to her fatally shooting her 18-year-old brother 24 years ago, and being a suspect in the attempted bombing of her professor at Harvard, I'm not so sure.
The professor who is accused of killing three colleagues at the University of Alabama on Friday was a suspect in the attempted mail bombing of a Harvard Medical School professor in 1993, a law enforcement official said today.

Amy Bishop and her husband, James Anderson, were questioned after a package containing two bombs was sent to the Newton home of Dr. Paul Rosenberg, a professor and doctor at Boston's Children's Hospital.

It was the second startling revelation in two days about the past of Bishop, who is accused of fatally shooting three colleagues and wounding three others Friday afternoon at a faculty meeting on the University of Alabama's Huntsville, Ala. campus.~Boston.com

We Are The World 25 | Haiti | Video

Recorded on February 1st, 2010, in the same studio as the original 25 years earlier (Henson Recording Studios, formerly A&M Recording Studios) "We Are The World 25 For Haiti", in which Jones and Richie serve as executive producers and producers, was created in collaboration with executive producers Wyclef Jean, Randy Phillips and Peter Tortorici; producers Humberto Gattica and RedOne; and co-producers Rickey Minor, Mervyn Warren and Patti Austin to benefit the Haitian earthquake relief efforts and the rebuilding of Haiti.

Academy Award-winning writer-director Paul Haggis (Crash, Million Dollar Baby), whose own personal efforts as well as those of Artists for Peace and Justice have already saved countless lives in Haiti, filmed the private recording session to create the accompanying video and behind-the-scenes production, and serves as Film Director and as an Executive Producer with Jones, Richie, Jean, Phillips and Tortorici.

The 25th Anniversary recording features over 80 artists and performers. The recording of We Are The World 25 For Haiti embodied the same enthusiasm, sense of purpose and generosity as the original recording 25 years ago. Every one of the artists who participated, regardless of genre or generation, walked into the room with their hearts and souls completely open to coming together to help the people of Haiti.~source

Police Find Gun in UAH Case | Amy Bishop | Video

A biology professor at the University of Alabama-Huntsville has been charged with murder in the shooting deaths of three fellow biology professors at the campus.
HUNTSVILLE, AL -- A professor used a 9 mm pistol to shoot six people, killing three, before ditching the weapon in a second-floor bathroom at UAH, police say. She then called her husband for a ride.

Police found the weapon used in the deadly shooting, which occurred during a biology faculty meeting, late last night in a bathroom on the second floor of the Shelby Center for Science and Technology. Amy Bishop's husband, James Anderson, was detained after the shooting but has not been charged.

Further charges may be pending against Bishop, including attempted murder charges for the three people wounded during yesterday's shooting at UAH, said District Attorney Rob Broussard.

Bishop was arrested without incident in the parking lot as she tried to leave campus, police spokesman Sgt. Mark Roberts said. Additional charges will come after a preliminary hearing, which will be scheduled six weeks to two months from now.

This is such a tragedy... I don't really know what to say. As far as I can imagine, there had to be more to this than just being "denied tenure" to motivate Dr. Bishop to kill her academic colleagues. Maybe she has serious 'mental issues' such as 'anger management?' Maybe she had a flashback from 'accidentally' killing her brother with a firearm 24 years ago... Who Knows???

Here's a great opinion piece on academic research in relation to this tragedy: http://desicritics.org/2010/02/13/201059.php

Beyonce and Russell Crowe In A Star Is Born Remake

LONDON - Hollywood actor Russell Crowe and singer Beyonce Knowles will star in a remake of classic movie A Star Is Born.

The “Gladiator” star Crowe is the new favourite to play an ageing, alcoholic musician who mentors and falls in love with a younger female star, reported contactmusic.com.

The film was a big screen hit in the 1930s and it has already been reworked twice, with Judy Garland and James Mason in 1957 and Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson in 1976.

Nick Cassavettes is onboard to direct the film.

Rumor has it that there will be a "steamy" love scene. Do I sense a replay of "Halle Berry in Monster's Ball?" I'm just sayin'...
