Great White Shark Kills Surfer | Video Report

Friday morning a great white shark killed a 19-year-old surfer 100 yards from shore. He and his friend had been in the ocean for about 45 minutes before the fatal attack. The victim's mother said that he called her on his cell phone, before going into the ocean, telling her how incredible the waves were that morning.

A UCSB student who was once called a hero for saving another person's life, died today after being attacked by a shark.

"Lucas was a nice guy, he loved life." That is how a fellow student at UCSB is remembering Lucas McKaine Ransom, who was attacked by a shark while "boogie boarding" at a beach near Vandenberg Air Force Base.

Officials say the 19 year old Ransom, of Romoland in Riverside County, died after a shark pulled him off his board about 100 yards from shore. Ransom suffered a massive wound to his left leg. The attack happened just before 9:00 a.m.~source

NPR Under Fire For Firing Juan Williams | Video

Veteran journalist and commenter Juan Williams was fired from his job as senior news analyst at National Public Radio after he said that seeing people in Muslim-style dress on airplanes sometimes makes him "nervous."

The dismissal has triggered a backlash against NPR with people ranging from comedian Whoopi Goldberg to conservatives like Sarah Palin and William Kristol arguing that dismissing Williams for that comment was wrong.

Williams, who is also an analyst for Fox News, told Fox today that he was not given a chance to defend himself.~ABC News

NPR Fires Juan Williams | Video

It looks like noted Journalist and Political Commentator, Juan Wlliams, stuck his foot in his mouth while on "The O'Reilly Factor."

Veteran journalist Juan Williams was fired from his job as senior news analyst for National Public Radio late Wednesday because of comments he made about Muslims and terrorism on "The O'Reilly Factor" on Fox News Channel.

NPR said in a statement that Williams's remarks - including that he gets "worried" and "nervous" when he sees people dressed in Muslim-style clothing on airplanes - "were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR." ~Washington Post

She just proved a few days ago that she is obsessed with the memory of Anita Hill accusing Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment in the workplace. Mrs. Thomas leaves a voicemail at Ms. Hill's office at Brandeis University, Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 7:30 A.M.

Chile Miners: All 33 Rescued | Video

Can you imagine being trapped more than 2000 ft below the earth's surface for 69 days? And on top of that, you lived to talk about your life changing experience?

I had the Live stream from UStream on my computer all day and night yesterday until the last one of the 6 Rescuers was lifted to the surface. I literally held my breath and prayed on each rescue I witnessed. The World was watching and hoping for success for all family members and for the Country of Chile.

This was an extraordinary undertaking for all engineers involved, worldwide. And, I Salute the Engineers and Experts that made this possible. It's great to see human lives valued. This is a "Feel Good" story. I clapped and 'cried tears of joy' at the end.

After 69 days and a cost as high as $20 million, 33 miners have finally been extracted from the bowels of the earth. To roaring applause, Chilean President Sebastian Pinera placed a metal cap on top of the rescue hole early Thursday morning -- and marked the end of a rescue operation that captivated the globe.

But in a way, the story is just beginning -- both for the miners, who now must live with their new status as folk heroes and the spotlight that comes with it, and the government, whose attention turns to protecting workers' safety.~CNN

Miley Cyrus: Who Owns My Heart | New Video

Once again, 17-year-old pop sensation Miley Cyrus causes controversy. The parents of her former Tweens fan base are not happy about Cyrus' sexy video.

The Parents Television Council issued this statement:

It is unfortunate that she would participate in such a sexualized video like this one. It sends messages to her fan base that are diametrically opposed to everything she has done up to this point. Miley built her fame and fortune entirely on the backs of young girls, and it saddens us that she seems so eager to distance herself from that fan base so rapidly.

Well... some of us knew Miley Cyrus would not be "Hanna Montana" forever.
